Drums

I have always wondered my inborn likeness for drums. My ancestors were simple people, they were not much inclined towards music. In my family, my brother loved guitar. In my childhood I had seen him playing charming melodies on his guitar. He has a beguiling voice, cousins and friends loved listening to him. He happened to become my inspiration for singing, but love for drums is my instinct, I can feel it running through my veins.

Had music been my discovery, drums would have been my invention. I have seen myself many times behind the drums with tied up hair, crumpled up sleeves, eyes closed with a thoughtful gesture and beating drums wildly in oblivion. So involved in dealing with the world inside that the outside world vanished for me.
When anything a feeling, a non-living becomes intense, it finds out ways of expression. Human is one of those ways of expression. Look around and you'll see what is in disguise of humans. I have always believed that drummers are volcano in disguise for the void I see on their face and the lava I see in their eyes ready to outflow in a gush. Drums are the song played on human voice, they are never played on the background. The more  they whet the more they take the contour of the feeling deep down in my heart. The profound groove placates the tempestuous seas, represses my screaming soul....it can make the restless meditate!

I speculate drumbeats an inspiration for the choreographer because drumbeats cause the 'uncontrolled movement of the body' or simply call it 'dance'. Drumbeats also infused the idea of 'robot dance' in a choreographer's mind, because, I can define both, the drumbeat and the robot dance with a single defination: a brief, fitful and spasmodic movement of sb/sth.

I have my own way of writing history for which, I don't need to sift through books or probe the past or browse multiple websites. And here I am going to tell you a story of that origin. Once, there was a military man who went to a celebration where the city's best drummers came to exhibit their talent. Their drumming was so impeccable and captivating that the whole crowd acclaimed and cheered at them. The military man told me, on that moment he wished he could make such an incredible moves with his body that the crowd appreciated him too. But, army has decency thrust upon it. So, he came up with a more dignified form of dance, the army dance! As I stated above that army has decency thrust upon it, he soon named it 'Parade'.

Drumbeat in a song is just like salt in the meal. Though, majority thinks this for guitar. Even I admit only guitar strumming in the background can complete a song. This makes me jealous of guitar. Jealousy is sometimes inspirational, now-a-days I am composing a  crazy song that will be played on drums only. Yes unlike many others I am fond of loud and crazy music. When people question about my mad choice I give them a simple answer, yet many people don't understand it. I say,

"Only a heavy downpour can pacify a tornado!"
